This strange life form on a stick is in fact a a fresh water sponge known locally as " CAUXI "
Initially this caused us some confusion as Anthony pronounced it as " COW SHIT"
We were desperately looking round for evidence of cows - without success
We were advised to take care not to brush against it, as it can cause severe infection if the skin is broken.
